CoLab as a program, fosters international collaborations by curating a professional network of peers. The challenge of unfolding complex issues that we tackle with our program often require it to be seen through different lenses. BeFantastic’s CoLab creates a platform, founded on peer sharing and knowledge exchange. With a transdisciplinary approach at its centre, co-creating within different teams, making while learning, our CoLab programs entail exchanges between borders, disciplines, and cultures.
Dialog
‘Dialogs’- one of our core programs, is foundational in opening up conceptual and structural spaces for robust collaboration between different disciplines. It intends to engage in radical imaginations that invites a re-envisioning of the development of arts based research, science and technology, political and social structures, and our relation to others in a broader ecology. An understanding of multiple disciplines in order to tackle complex problems seems critical for effective engagement. Designed as a forum, we see this as an important part in fostering a critical discourse, specifically, involving the creative practices within it, by actively creating the space for such exchanges.
Showcase
The idea of a showcase presents at its core, a gathering space for a community to commiserate together about pressing and urgent issues, deliberate on possible ways forward and even celebrate the path until now. The showcase is an act of bringing together a plurality of perspectives and practitioners from various disciplines and geographies. Our marquee event is a recurring festival that responds to both current technologies and urgent global issues. In the shape of a public exhibition, a set of commissioned artistic explorations resulting from the creative engagements of BeFantastic’s different programs in the years preceding, along with curated works from international artists forms the backbone of the festival. Emerging from a pandemic hiatus our most recent festival, FutureFantastic, March 2023 bore the responsibility of presenting the nascent conversation of AI for Art and Culture in the face of Climate Change to Bengaluru’s audiences.
